Carolina Mundarain-Rahima - Executive Director & Co-Founder
Carolina is a visionary leader and dedicated dance educator with over two decades of experience in Latin dance instruction and community building. As the Executive Director and Co-Founder of Portland Cultural Dance Collective (PCDC), she leads with passion, empathy, and a deep commitment to cultural preservation through the arts. Carolina previously founded Vitalidad Movement Arts Center (VMAC), which has now transitioned into PCDC, where she continues to create and guide dynamic adult dance programs rooted in cultural authenticity. Her background in marketing research and project management informs her leadership style—data-driven, mission-focused, and rooted in equity. Carolina is especially proud of her work empowering students through culturally rooted dance education and building inclusive spaces that celebrate identity and joy.

Deblin McKnight - Managing Director & Co-Founder
Deblin is a powerhouse behind the scenes at PCDC, bringing extensive experience in operations, logistics, and dance education to her role as Managing Director and Co-Founder. She is deeply passionate about creating systems that support sustainability, artist empowerment, and organizational growth. With a background in both nonprofit work and dance instruction, Deblin ensures PCDC’s day-to-day operations run smoothly while also contributing to the creative direction of its programs. Her leadership is driven by a strong sense of purpose: to make culturally responsive arts education accessible to all. Known for her reliability, heart, and behind-the-scenes brilliance, Deblin is the glue that holds it all together.

Jamal Rahima - Marketing Director & Co-Founder
Jamal brings a unique blend of creative vision and strategic thinking to his role as Marketing Director and Co-Founder of PCDC. With a strong background in dance, community engagement, and visual storytelling, he leads the organization's marketing and branding efforts with authenticity and flair. Jamal previously founded Vitalidad Movement Arts Center (VMAC), which has now transitioned into PCDC, and is known for his integrity, thoughtfulness, and unwavering support of PCDC’s mission to create inclusive spaces for dance and cultural expression. Whether he's crafting content or connecting with community members, Jamal’s work reflects his deep belief in the power of movement and representation. He is a longtime leader in Portland’s Afro-Latin dance community and remains committed to uplifting diverse voices in the arts.
