We are deeply grateful to the Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC) for their generous $5,000 grant, which makes it possible for us to expand our VMAC Next Gen Youth Cultural Dance Program and offer free and low-cost dance classes to youth ages 6–15 in East Portland.
This funding helps remove financial barriers to arts education and allows us to prioritize BIPOC, immigrant, refugee, LGBTQIA+, and low-income families, ensuring young people have access to culturally affirming movement, creativity, and community. Through this program, students will study Afro-Latin, Hip Hop, Folklórico, and other cultural dance traditions with professional teaching artists who reflect the lived experiences of the youth we serve.
More information will be released shortly on how families can request to participate in this low- to no-cost program, including enrollment details and upcoming information sessions. We are excited to share these opportunities with the community very soon.
If you would like to continue supporting this effort and help us reach even more youth, donations can be made at the following link:

Thank you again to RACC for investing in youth, equity, and the power of the arts to build belonging, vitality, and cultural connection across Portland.

We want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported our nonprofit during this campaign. Because of you, we raised $1,291.11 and welcomed 6 new monthly donors.
These donations directly support building operations and help sponsor dancers—both children and adults—who otherwise wouldn’t have access to dance.
The truth is: while VMAC may look full and thriving, we operate on a very tight budget. Monthly recurring donations are what allow us to keep the doors open.
If VMAC has ever been a place of joy, growth, or belonging for you, we invite you to consider becoming a monthly donor or sharing our campaign.

 Goal: $5,000/month in recurring support
